When I first started as a rubber stamping and realized I wanted to be a card manufacturer, I lived in a small town where I knew paper artisans. It seemed that many stores that sold stamps and had not seen the techniques demonstrated.
Then I met a wonderful woman line was a manufacturer of advanced card. He lived in the Pacific Ocean from me, but she understood what was happening. It was through your email friendly and beautiful images of his letters that my interest in eliminating finally was allowed to grow. I wanted to try to make some cards so much!
My friend sent me my first stamps, designer paper samples, ribbon and bling. Then he found some ink pads and started playing. I had no idea of the great and the wonderous world of rubber stamping was both, so I just did what I knew I could do. I was very pleased to play in the fourth.
When printing a nice few companies began selling stamps and supplies in Australia, I began to see how much was possible. That was when my collection of tools and supplies began to grow.
So what should I buy? I'll show you my list, but remember that yours may well be very different from mine. I to go in the direction of my interests and conscience led me. This is a fun hobby there is no right and wrong way of doing this – for me there is more to play and experiment!
Some of the things I do I love it. And some do not. It's all learning. Let yourself enjoy your own voyage of discovery.
This is what collected soon after I started rubber stamping:
- Besides buying the stamps that I loved at the time of a sudden I bought some cards that was the color of coordinated (Stampin 'Up!) and its color wheel. It took place nice colors and adventure together in the beginning and the color wheel has helped a lot
- A good quality white card for my image for my cards coordination
- I also bought scissors – a pair of rubber and cut a couple of small and sharp for cutting hard bits of paper
- I bought a car at great cure for cutting
- stamp pad cleaning and cleaning the fog seal (fog conditions, the rubber seals)
- snail adhesive
- much ink in many colors as I could afford
- some watercolor pencils and crayons
- metallic gel pens, a good pen and paper black white gel pen
- permanent black ink pad so I could color in the lines of my stamp designs without
- Versamark ink pad to enhance the
- about the embossing powder
- some double-sided tape
- a metal ruler good
- bone folder
- mat and a package of drilling tools for paper
I must say I still use the tools all these years later.
As I became interested by other techniques (or necessity) I bought more tools. For example I used a toaster to highlight things in the first. (We do not recommend the use of a toaster relief, indeed. Read on to see why not!) When I was stressed while about setting the house on fire one day, I decided to buy a gun heat (hence the need! Hubby finally accepted that he had a heat gun, when my paper was set on fire!)
Trims only grow as feet when you start buying them. I started with:
- some brooches SPLIT PIN
- some paper flowers
- some tape and
- some small buttons
Then I decided to start drilling my tool collection of paper because I started learning to use perforated forms.
Next happen to want to set eyelets and when I bought a noisy eyelet fastening system. When I could not resist setting eyelets at night after of husband (a shift worker) had gone to bed, he agreed he needed a Crop-a-say – Is silent and oh so efficient!
I think now we see the pattern of my purchase supply ship has taken over the years?
My advice is this: go ahead and trust your own creative tendencies when they are building their rubber stamping and paper-making supplies and tools. Find a nice open and airy with good lighting for boats and think about how to store supplies as they grow. I made do with ordinary table that had a general library linked to your back. It is situated near an open window and I added a desk lamp for times when the sky I was cloudy or preparation of the evening (which is often).
